Ed Bachrach
Founder, Bachrach Family Foundation
Ed Bachrach is the retired Chairman and CEO of Bachrach Clothing, Inc. and founder of the Bachrach Family Foundation. He is a longtime supporter of the IIN and its structural nanomedicine research programs.
After three decades building Bachrach Clothing into a national retailer, Ed turned his attention to public policy and philanthropy, founding the Center for Pension Integrity in Chicago and co-authoring The New Chicago Way: Lessons from Other Big Cities. Through the Bachrach Family Foundation, he has funded early-stage research nationwide, including Northwestern’s work on SNA nanoconstruct-based cancer therapies and a Feinberg School of Medicine project, led by Dr. Bin Jiang, working to transplant healthy mitochondria into damaged cells as a potential treatment for vascular disease.
Feinberg School of Medicine
Ed graduated from Northwestern as part of the Class of 1970 with a degree in Business Administration and later earned a Master’s in Public Administration from Harvard’s Kennedy School. In 2002, he founded the Build Cambodia Foundation and has supported healthcare initiatives across Southeast Asia ever since.
