Professor Chad A. Mirkin, Director of the International Institute for Nanotechnology (IIN) at Northwestern University, has been selected to receive the 2023–2024 Harvey Prize in Science and Technology. Awarded by the Technion, the Harvey Prize is one of the world’s premier honors recognizing transformative breakthroughs in science, technology, and human health. Mirkin’s pioneering contributions to nanoscience, including the invention of spherical nucleic acids (SNAs) and the establishment of structural nanomedicine, continue to shape the future of diagnostics, therapeutics, and materials design.

This year, the Technion will present two Harvey Prizes, honoring both Mirkin and Harvard University Professor David R. Liu. Each laureate will receive their prize separately during the 2026 Board of Governors events.
