Applied Physics

Faculty Mentor: Mark Hersam

Research

Xiaolong Liu received a B.S. in physics from the University of Science and Technology of China. His current research is focused on probing the electronic and structural properties of novel, two-dimensional (2D) materials and heterostructures at the atomic length scale. This research involves ultra-high vacuum scanning, tunneling microscopy/spectroscopy, as well as other advanced scanning probe techniques, and is important as fundamental guidelines for the design and creation of nanoelectronic devices with ultimate dimensions.
