The Arnold and Mabel Beckman Foundation has selected Northwestern University as one of the 11 recipients of the 2017 Beckman Scholars Program Award. The Beckman Scholars Program provides an in-depth, 15-month UNDERGRADUATE research opportunity with financial support over two consecutive summers and one academic year of research.
Chad Mirkin, director of the International Institute for Nanotechnology and Peter Civetta, director of Northwestern’s Undergraduate Research Office, are directing the program. Thirteen Northwestern faculty members have agreed to mentor undergraduate students.
The Arnold and Mabel Beckman Foundation provides grants to researchers and non-profit research institutions in chemistry and life sciences to promote scientific discoveries, and particularly to foster the invention of methods, instruments, and materials that will open up new avenues of research.
The deadline for applications is February 24.
