Trevor LaMountain received a B.A. in Physics from Bard College, where he also studied Mathematics. His research is currently focused on understanding the electronic and optical properties of two-dimensional (2D) materials. He is particularly interested in using these materials to control the interaction of light and matter at the quantum level. Trevor utilizes nanoscale patterning and heterostructuring of different 2D materials in order to realize this quantum control. This work opens the door to new architectures for next-generation electronics and information processing technologies.
