The International Institute for Nanotechnology (IIN) is a global hub of excellence in the field of nanotechnology and currently unites over $600 million in nanotechnology research, educational programs, and supporting infrastructure.
Collaborative partnerships exist in 30 countries, and relationships have been developed with universities in Europe and Asia, as well as North and South America, that provide opportunities for student and postdoctoral exchange programs and joint workshops.
Twenty start-up companies have been launched through IIN researcher advancements, and over 50 products based on nanotechnology developed at the IIN are being used in hundreds of laboratories and hospitals in 22 different countries around the world. Additionally, 27 corporations have aligned themselves directly with the IIN through membership in the Nanotechnology Corporate Partners (NCP) program.
The IIN supports innovative educational outreach programs for students of all ages and provides funding support for major instrumentation housed in open-access user facilities.
Each year the IIN organizes and sponsors a symposium that brings together leading national and international researchers. The symposium provides a venue to enhance interactions and encourage collaborations.
This year the annual symposium will be held on Thursday, October 18th at the
Hilton Orrington Hotel in Evanston, IL and feature the following distinguished speakers:
Nobel laureate Ahmed Zewail, California Institute of Technology
Takuzo Aida, University of Tokyo
Carlos Bustamante, University of California, Berkeley
Yet-Ming Chiang, Massachusetts Institute of Technology
James Heath, California Insitute of Technology
Evelyn Hu, Harvard University
Attendance at the 2012 IIN Symposium is free of charge due to the generous support from our sponsors, but space is limited and reservations are required. Please register early to assure your seat!
We look forward to seeing you there.
